The roots of Kabbalah, the Jewish text on mysticism, are at least 1800 years old, in the revelations of Ezekiel. Even so, Kabbalah has been hidden in much of traditional Judaism. In fact, for most of our history, men younger than age 40 and women of any age were forbidden to study Kabbalah. A fundamental premise of Kabbalah is that God is unknowable—the term for God is “Ayn Sof”—which means “there is no end…” The Hassidic mystical tradition teaches that Everywhere and Everyone is a manifestation of God—the whole universe breathes with God.
